in 1930 (shortly after the birth of
"talkies") for the
then-princely sum of $1.25 million,
the Pantages Theatre (then part of the
Fox movie theatre chain) was one of
the most beautiful theatres in town. The
theatre's elaborate Art Deco lobby is
still stunning today, with soaring
ceilings and plush carpeting.
It's
not at all unusual to spot stars on
the opening days of theatre
shows.

Los Angeles, CA 90028.
